City Colleges of Chicago is using benchmarking data and institutional early indicators to inform ongoing continuous improvement efforts across the institution, from facilities to finance, gateway momentum to transfer. This presentation will highlight the process for identifying and socializing key metrics, sources for benchmarking including an overview of the National Community College Benchmarking Project, early successes in continuous improvement, and lessons learned.

This session will introduce how Delaware County Community College (DCCC) transformed its decision-making culture by shifting stakeholders from waiting for lengthy data reports to taking a proactive approach in gaining insights through data. Through innovative guidance and support from the Institutional Research (IR) office, deans, faculty, and staff are now empowered to independently access and analyze data, enabling them to make informed, real-time decisions that improve student success and institutional effectiveness. Attendees will learn how the IR team’s strategies, utilizing advanced technology, fostered a culture of engagement where stakeholders actively use data to track retention, analyze course success, and identify early signs of student challenges. This session offers valuable insights for professionals seeking to encourage proactive, data-driven decision-making within their institutions.
